The
months just keep getting better. October
was full of fun activities and the kids are settling in to a nice routine. We welcome two new families into our
fold. Ethan, with his parents Diana and
John and Helen, with her parents Brandie and John. Boy, if there is a dad's night things could
get a little confusing. That makes five
dads with the name John.
We
had our second field trip in October, to Lee's Farm. It was another successful outing, our best
one yet. The highlight for the kids may
have been feeding the goat up on the catwalk.
The pulley system was a hit. I
think the adults enjoyed the apple cider doughnuts the best. They alone are worth going back for.
Here
is what we are looking forward to in November.
Dramatic Play will be switched to a Grocery Store. In addition to shopping for items the Pre-K
class will be taking on the roles of grocery store employees, such as bagger,
checker, etc. They will also be learning
how to make lists, count money and stay with in a budget given to them. In conjunction with this new area we will make
a field trip to a local area grocery store.
Keep your eye on the bulletin board for information.
Just
a couple of reminders as we continue the school year: Please review the emergency/fire exit plan
located above the light switches in the classrooms. Make sure you are familiar with the
drill. As we head into the winter months
i.e. cold and flu season, please be considerate of everyone else and keep your
child at home if they are not feeling well.
You may refer to your handbook for Tigard Playschools guidelines. Last but not least the newsletter is always
looking for children to spotlight. If
