January was been all about Dinosaurs. The kids loved learning many interesting prehistoric facts. Some of their favorite activities were growing a class dinosaur, using real bones to recreating what a dinosaur skeleton may have looked like, and being real paleontologists chipping away at rock in search for bone. You may have seen their replica of a dinosaur habitat. Be sure to ask which part they contributed. To cap off this lesson plan there were volcanoes in the sand box and hatching of dinosaur eggs.
The kids would like to thank the drama committee for the great pretend fire station and they love the new pet hospital. Also, thank you parents for the prompt return of the phonics bag and book bags. Both have been a real success. The students look forward to seeing who is next up to take home a bag.
Rounding out the month were conferences which were very well attended. Teacher Susie would like to send out a big THANK YOU to Pre-K for her Christmas gift basket and her Birthday broom and sweeper. She appreciates it all very much.
And now for February business. This month the class will be focusing on Valentines Day and Chinese New Year. There will be a class party on the 14th of course. In preparation you can have your child start working on their Valentine Cards. If they do not want to write each individual classmates name they can use this list below and just write the number that corresponds with their friends’ name.
