Our school started at Tigard United Methodist Church as a private kindergarten, and became incorporated on May 12, 1958. Later the kindergarten added a preschool (Tigard Kindergarten and Tigard Playschool), and the two non-profit organizations merged on December 18, 1974 with Tigard Playschool, Inc. remaining as the “surviving corporation.” The Playschool became a member of the Parent Child Preschools of Oregon (PCPO) during the late 1970’s and gained its preschool status.
